Dakar Bike 660 Rally Rider/Bike #22 | Chris Blais the top American Rookie finishing in 9th place overall in the Dakar RallyJanuary 1-16, 2005 The Dakar Rally is the world's toughest and longest off-road race, over a total 8956 km including 5431 km of special and 3525 km of liaison in a 16-day period (with only one day off) Instead of using the traditional Paris starting point, the cars, trucks and motorcycles will depart from Barcelona, Spain on New Year's Day and race into Africa.
*Chris has finished in 9th overall at the Dakar Rally! We are all very proud of his first try at this tough race and finishing that high in the standings. Way to go Chris!

Stage 5 of the Dakar Rally 2005 Chris finished Stage 5 with thumbs up, all is going well! Chris continued his strong run in the Dakar Rally today (1/5/05) in the sand dunes, finishing 10th and standings 10th overall. | Chris won 9th place overall in the 2005 Dakar Rally230 motorcycles left Barcelona, Spain and 104 of them have reached Dakar, Africa today. We all have great respect for them. What an amazing feat Blais! |

It was tough, but I was able to overcome it all. I am proud of my accomplishment, this has been a really great experience. I am looking forward to next years Dakar 2006.
